Composed of soft sculpture and interactive projection, Underwear Shopping Spree is about fabrics that protect the wearer from extreme weather. Begun during the now yearly hottest summer on record, the work was born from the delirious feeling of being dehydrated, irradiated, and overexposed.
The opening reception featured a free screening titled 'Hot! Cold! Polluted! Dangerous!'. Short films about extreme weather from local filmmakers and friends were shown. Participating filmmakers included Jamie Wolfe, Jorge Ravelo, Martha Colburn, Paul Vester, Cindy Stillwell, Lilli Carré, Brian Smee, CT Bishop, Josh Shaffner, Ruth Hayes, Alex Broadwell, Yun Chen, Phil Hoffman, and Pat O'Neill.
